News

I decided to start this almost as a diary of events so at least we would have a record in times to come what we have done and been through. Writing this in places has been very difficult and at times I have had to stop and compose myself. It will however show any person thinking of breeding what it entails with highs and lows.

Tiki gave birth to 5 kittens, 2 blue boys, 1 blue spotted boy, 1 blue cream girl and a blue tortie spotted girl all are doing fine and were of a good weight.

Bluebell gave birth to 7 kittens, 5 blue boys and 2 blue cream girls all are doing fine and were of an excellent weight. What a trooper for her first time as a mum.
23-05-2008
Anny gave birth to 4 kittens, all are black silver spotted 2 boys and 2 girls. These were real bruisers and she did so well in coping with the birth.

We picked our new addition to our cat family from Liz Blagdon at Warminster. Her name is Cleyview Snowdrop and she is a black tipped BSH (39).

Rusti doesn't look very well, we take him to the vets and they are a bit confused as to what the problem is, we make the decision that he does not like it outside and we will bring him in and he will become our house cat. I withdraw him from the Somerset Show on 7th. June.

We picked our new addition to our cat family from Liz Blagdon at Warminster. Her name is Cleyview Daisy she is a Black Shaded Selkirk Rex shorthaired version and is so sweet she follows you around like a little dog making all sorts of funny noises. I was never sure about them, but now  I am absolutely sold.
3-06-2008
Still worried about Rusti, the blood test results show his white cell count extremely high and would appear to have an infection but no temperature. The vets then say it is a possibility that he may have an aggressive form of liver cancer at 13 months old! We are completely devastated as we know that this is terminal. Other tests are done including a scan. The prognosis is not good.

Cleyview Flintstone has his show debut and wins the open for best male blue kitten and BOB. At least something appears to be going OK. Very worried about Rusti he appears not to be eating now and I am resorting to feeding him Liquivite with a syringe to try and help him.

10-6-2008
Still trying to keep Rusti going hoping upon all hope that the vets are wrong, but I know in my heart of hearts what I am doing is futile in the grand scheme of things. A decision has to be made in the best interests of Rusti and we decide that if things are no better we will have to put him to sleep.
12-06-2008
The appointment is made, all I can do is keep him warm and comfortable, I feel so useless and helpless. He just appears to want to sleep all the time. Brave little man!
13-06-2008
At 14.30hrs Rusti was put to sleep in my arms, you were such a brave little man full of promise unrealised. I never realised it was going to be this hard in the first year. He was only 13 months old it is so unfair he was so sweet he never deserved any of this. Now another page has to be added to the site a lot quicker than I would have wanted or hoped for. See you at the rainbow bridge Rusti.
16-06-2008
The results of Rusti's post mortem confirmed the vets diagnosis of Liver cancer and we had done the best we could for him, Rusti was cremated today. At least we have the photographs of him done by Robert Fox after he won his first CC at the Kernow Show in April. Still very upset and tearful over the whole incident my husband Colin is very upset as Rusti was his little baby.
21-06-2008
Travelled to Northampton to visit Jack Panting of Ronaldo Cats and to pick up Ronaldo Silver Pepe a black silver tabby (18) to be our private stud. Thank you Jack for entrusting us with this fine boy. I will add his page as soon as I can get some decent photographs ( when Pepe will stay still for long enough!)
24-06-2008
Tiki's 5 kittens have all had their first jab and are all fine, made a bit of noise however it did not put them off their food for even a single day. They all weigh about 900 grams now.
28-06-2008
Bluebells kittens are now 6 weeks old and are into everything, they are eating well and are really chunky fellows. Anny's kittens are almost as big as Bluebells and are just as mobile we are going to have a few hectic months with this lot!
2-07-2008
Managed to get some images of the Snowdrop, Daisy and Pepe and will put them on the website as soon as Colin gets the time.
5-07-2008
Flintstone went to his first show as an adult, more for the experience than the chance of winning as he is only 9½ months old and up against cats a lot older. However he stood up well and if you visit the show news page you can see how he did. Well done my little man!
8-07-2008
Bluebell, Anny and Izzy all had their booster jabs tonight, again everybody is fine.
25-07-2008
4 of tiki's kittens have now gone to their new homes they all weighed in at between 1.6 and 1.8 Kg, we have kept Eva and you will see her page when she is a little older.
31-07-2008
Anny's kittens went to the vets for their first vaccination tonight along with Hercules and Leonora, everybody is doing fine and growing on nicely.
