About Us

Our lives revolve around our family of cats & dogs. We fell in love with the British Shorthair back in Febuary 1996 when we rescued a three week old abandoned kitten named Hooch. He was a British Shorthair black & white moggy. When we arrived home he soon settled in ate a bellyful of food & went to sleep & from that time he never looked back. He was introduced to our mackerel tabby we had at that time & she mothered him & showed him what to do. He was a mucky little thing getting food in his ears up his nose, litter up the wall when he used to shake his feet. He knew nothing having had no mother to teach him.

We never forgot the day he came home after falling in the brook & looked like a drowned rat or the time he got stuck on the roof around the heat of the chimney. When he was hungry he used to go to the garbage & carry an empty can to the hall & rattled it on the tiles to let us know he was hungry. But things changed for all of us in October of that year when we were in a serious car accident on the motorway Colin suffered from spinal injuries among other things & I had various injuries although not so bad. We went through hell & back but the only thing that kept us sane was Hooch. He never strayed too far from our side after that he never ever went without & was the most spoiled cat in Wales. In 2001 when we could manage the journey we came back to live in Dorset to be near our families, we are now settled & happy. Hooch died in 2006 this was a very sad time & we still miss him very much.

Our Hoochy we were not the only ones to have an accident he lost most of his tail after being run over by a tractor
Tigger who became his mum and later in life his best friend and they became team mouser.

That is why we love the British Shorthair today & strive to breed the best we can. Our new out look on life is so much different now. We love to show our cats & maybe one day we will have a champion or two of our own. Our first year of breeding in 2008 was another journey in its self. Everything that could go wrong did. Our first cat had to be re-homed after we found that the breeder had sold us a worn out cat & she was unable to give birth naturally so had to have a c section, but she has been re-homed to a life of luxury with her new family in Somerset. We lost both our male cats to cancer & again we had to have another c section, apart from that we had a great 2008 with the arrival of our very first litter of kittens.

Flintstone our huge boy who contracted Lymphatic Cancer and passed away, you will be missed so much, sleep well my baby

My Rusti, such a travesty to be lose your battle with liver cancer just when you were coming into adulthood, sleep well Rusti.

A big thank you to Liz who lives in Wiltshire for always being on the end of a phone. We have met some wonderful people & made some good friends along the way.

In 2007, I trained as a microchipper & trainer I always believe that if a cat has an identity they can be reunited with there owners  very quick. I now advise anyone purchasing a kitten to have them microchipped before they take them home. I now microchip all our kittens before they leave for there new home. We are always available for a chat at the end of a phone if needed; you can always get hold of us by email day or night. A big thank you to all that helped us along the way. Enjoy our new website.
